The Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) Program is an invitation-only program. Cisco IP Interoperability and Collaboration System (IPICS) is a complete IP-based dispatch and incident response solution loaded with capabilities. It is a scalable cost-effective way for all of your public safety and campus security personnel to communicate quickly and reliably using whatever desktop or mobile device they have. It gives your existing communications equipment new capabilities.

Partner Profile

A successful IPICS ATP partner is:

  • Experienced in selling network physical security infrastructure to enterprise customers
  • Experienced in demonstrating professional services practice implementing core and edge routing solutions in central office and data center environments
  • Ideal candidates must also have current knowledge of radio technology
  • Ideal candidates would also be existing Cisco channel partners that hold one of the following: Express Foundation, Express Unified Communications or Collaboration Architecture Specialization

ATP Requirements:

The ATP-IPICS Program has established three roles. Role sharing is allowed. However, SE and FE must be unique individuals. The individuals who fill the roles may be existing employees of the ATP Partner. Cisco does not require that the ATP Partner hire additional employees to fill these roles:

  • Account Manager (AM)
  • Systems Engineer (SE)
  • Field Engineer (FE)

The personnel requirements identified in the following sections are minimum requirements to qualify for the ATP-IPICS program. ATP Partners should ensure that they have additional trained personnel as needed to support all customer engagements and their overall market opportunity. In addition to performing the indicated roles, these individuals are the first line of internal support.

Following is a summary of training format, cost, and duration specifically for each role, as well as additional general training requirements. All costs and duration are approximate and may vary by region.

Account Manager

A minimum of one (1) AM is required. The AM will handle the account management and presales tasks necessary to recognize opportunities and to sell the products. The responsibilities include providing monthly forecasts to the Cisco channel account manager, attending monthly meetings with Cisco channel account management staff, articulating to customers the Cisco IPICS solution, preparing technical responses to RFPs, and providing sales support for installed customers.

Systems Engineer (SE)

A minimum of one (1) SE is required. The presales SE is responsible for ensuring the highest level of technical account management. The responsibilities include being able to demonstrate IPICS solutions, prepare technical responses to RFPs, provide the customer with implementation planning and system design guidance, and manage the project engagement for a successful system deployment .

Field Engineer (FE)

A minimum of one (1) FE is required. The FE (post-sales or deployment engineer) is required to assist customers with the installation and support of IPICS products. Responsibilities include providing installation test and turn-resolution.

Requirements

The lab equipment is to be used by the IPICS ATP partner solely for support, training, customer proof-of-concept, and other similar internal activities. Partners may purchase or lease this equipment direct from Cisco at the partner's discount set forth in the partner's direct or indirect Reseller Agreement with Cisco or at other pricing as may be offered by Cisco from time to time.

The following is a summary of what is required in the Cisco IPICS ATP Partner Lab Equipment BOM. The full official lab bill of materials can be found via the Emerging Technology partner portal.

Note: There are no exceptions; all ATP Partners must purchase the lab equipment. ATP Partner must have the capability to offer each customer to which it resells IPICS solutions the following post-sales support services:

  • Cisco SMARTnet Service and Software Application Support [SAS] using a valid services agreement or through a Cisco Authorized Distributor

The ATP-IPICS Program governs the accessibility of the following Cisco IPICS Products. These products are available only to qualified ATP Partners. These products are referred to collectively in this document as the Cisco IPICS products.

New partners can prospect leads and develop quotes for Cisco IPICS products and solutions during the qualification period. However, they cannot purchase these products and begin deployments until they have successfully met the defined requirements for this ATP program.

  • Cisco IPICS Deployment Options (bundled software)
  • Cisco IPICS Phone Client
  • Cisco IPICS PMC Client Software
