Bridging the Divide

Persons with Disabilities

Cisco recognizes the diverse learning styles of students with disabilities and provides creative technology solutions to ensure the complete accessibility of the Cisco Networking Academy Program to all learners. Whether you are a person with disabilities or provide services to this population, Cisco shares successful strategies to some of these challenges.

Background

Since 1973, when Congress passed the Rehabilitation Act, educational organizations that receive federal funding have been required to provide "reasonable accommodations". The Networking Academy program provides specific accommodations for three types of disabilities: learning disabilities, visual impairment, and hearing impairment.
