Cisco Systems provides many resources in support of Job Shadow Day.
To serve a large number of schools and events, it is important to explore other local industry resources.
Many Cisco sales offices across the
country have already agreed to host students or work with Local
Academies. You can also search for offices near you.
Cisco relies on a vast network of
resellers and systems integrators to serve customers. These
independent businesses are great resources for this event.
Consider including short, informative
videos at your Job Shadow Day event.
End users
You can find IT resources in your
community through retailers, hospitals, government agencies,
and local businesses. Ask representatives to deliver presentations
or provide a tour of their facilities.
Consider using post-secondary resources
if you are a high school. Your Regional Academy can also help.
School district or college technology chief
You can also find helpful IT resources
at your school. Ask them to be involved.
Vendors
There may be vendors that sell software
and hardware to your school or school district. Contact the
person at your school who is responsible for purchasing IT equipment
and software or managing your IT services and ask for information
about local vendors.
