The Cisco MxU Specialist provides candidates with the technical expertise needed to successfully install, configure, operate and troubleshoot Cisco Broadband Service Manager (BBSMT) and Cisco Long Reach Ethernet (LRE) networking solutions—solutions that deliver cost-effective, high-performance broadband access to multi-unit (MxU) buildings (hotels, residential multi-dwelling units, and multi-tenant unit office buildings), and enterprise campus environments such as manufacturing, educational campuses, and medical facilities.
After November 10, 2003, no additional Cisco MxU Specialist certificates will be issued. Individuals who have earned the Cisco MxU Specialist certification prior to November 10, 2003, will retain their valid certification for two years from the date that their individual certification was granted. Individuals who currently hold the MxU certification may be interested in the new Public Access Design Specialist, or Public Access Support Specialist. Both Public Access focused certifications build upon the Cisco Broadband Service Manager (BBSMT) and Cisco Long Reach Ethernet (LRE) courseware that was the foundation of the MxU Specialist courseware, with the added benefit of Cisco Wireless LAN training.

To obtain a Cisco Career Certification, you must read and accept the terms of the Cisco Career Certifications and Confidentiality Agreement. Failure to complete this step will prohibit processing of any Cisco Career Certification application.
