As senior vice president of Cisco’s Voice Technology Group (VTG), Barry O’Sullivan leads a team of voice industry executives who are responsible for Cisco’s Voice and Unified Communications Business Units. VTG is responsible for developing the company’s IP telephony systems, IP phones, customer contact solutions, and unified communications applications including messaging, video and audio conferencing, and enterprise collaboration.
When he came to Cisco in July of 2002, Barry served as vice president and general manager for VTG’s Customer Contact Business Unit. Two years later he became vice president and general manager for the IP Communications Business Unit, where he tripled Cisco’s Enterprise Voice business, and helped the company grow from number six to the number one market share position worldwide.
Before joining Cisco, Barry spent 18 years at Nortel Networks as vice president and general manager of the contact center business and, prior to that, as vice president of Enterprise Voice for Nortel Networks Europe.
Mr. O’Sullivan holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the National University of Ireland as well as a Masters degree in Business Administration from Santa Clara University, California.
