FOR SERVICE PROVIDERS INTERESTED IN TELEPHONY

Because of increased interest in Open Packet Telephony for the Service Provider market, we have decided to make the following Cisco Networkers Online session a Cisco Networkers live session. If you're interested in attending this session, please add it to your schedule via My Scheduler.

VVT-1000:  Introduction to Packet Voice and Open Packet Telephony for the Service Provider

Abstract:
Packet-switched technology has moved from data-only applications into the heart of the network to take up the functions of traditional circuit-switched equipment. Cisco's Open Packet Telephony (OPT) layered architecture provides the tools necessary to effectively build telecommunication networks that can accommodate multiservice traffic using established industry standards for network interconnections. It uses communication and control protocols to provide open interfaces to operations support systems and service creation environments. It augments universal building blocks through the use of virtual switches to build a reliable network of any scale. This ability preserves investments in existing technology and provides an easy migration path from time-division multiplexing (TDM) to virtual switching technology.

This session is designed for network designers and engineers involved in migration of voice telecommunication networks toward packet infrastructures. Knowledge of traditional telecommunication networks and voice over packet protocols and architectures is expected.

TECSEC-2003:  Network Admission Control

Note that this Techtorial will cover the exact same material that is in the following breakout sessions:

  • SEC-2040:  Deploying Network Admission Control
  • SEC-2041:  Deploying Cisco NAC Appliance for Diverse Access Methods
  • SEC-3040:  Troubleshooting Network Admission Control
  • SEC-3041:  Troubleshooting Cisco NAC Appliance

If you attend TECSEC-2003:  Network Admission Control, it is not necessary to attend the breakout sessions above as the content is duplicated.
