Manny Rivelo Biography
Manny Rivelo is Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Process and Technical Operations for Cisco Systems, with responsibility for operations within Worldwide Sales including Systems Engineering, Global Accounts, Sales Support Programs, Sales Productivity, Inside Sales and U.S. Field Marketing. In this role, Rivelo drives the initiatives, policies, processes and programs to ensure that Cisco’s sales force achieves its productivity targets and customer focus.
Rivelo has established a track record for producing results and leading Cisco’s sales organization to pursue innovative programs, become more technically savvy through training and development and focus on customer success. He has provided the leadership to enable Cisco to become a process-centric enterprise designed to drive greater productivity by focusing efficiency, effectiveness and customer intimacy for the global sales force.
Rivelo’s leadership and acumen are called upon as an active member of three strategic Cisco business initiatives. These include his participation in the Business Process Operations Council (BPOC) where Rivelo contributes to a cross-functional operational decision-making group which drives productivity for the company and enabled Cisco to become a Networked Virtual organization. His role on the Enterprise Business Council is to help prioritize the key Enterprise inhibitors to success and drive the top 3-5 cross-functional initiatives to address those inhibitors. On the Cisco on Cisco Executive Council Rivelo works with other senior executives to validate and implement Cisco’s technology and the customer support organization model.
Rivelo’s leadership and technical expertise have ensured strong organizations that are able to adapt to the global economic environment. He is directly responsible for building and maintaining the most competent and technical Systems Engineering organization in the industry and holds one of the first certifications of Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE).
Rivelo joined Cisco in 1992 as a Systems Engineer and has progressively taken on positions of increasing responsibility within Cisco’s Worldwide Sales Team. In June 2000, he was named head of Worldwide Technical Operations for Cisco in addition to leading the Worldwide Systems Engineering organization. Sixteen months later, he assumed additional responsibility for Worldwide Field Process and Technical Operations.
Prior to joining Cisco, Rivelo worked in various engineering roles with JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and Bell Labs. Rivelo holds an Executive MBA from Wharton School of Business and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey.
Rivelo serves as Executive Sponsor for the following Cisco customers: Ford, Boeing, Key Corporation, JP Morgan, and Bank One.
He is currently a member of the Strategic Advisory Council for the City and County of Seattle, Washington.
