Session Description: The security landscape is constantly evolving and attackers are nimbly and ferociously innovating at the rapid pace at which the technology industry changes. As more organizations adopt and absorb the new business models of the Internet of Everything (IoE) and Internet of Things (IoT), their security approaches must also be more dynamic in nature. As hacking has matured and become industrialized, so too does the security models used to defend.

Session ID & Title: TL2 – Accelerating Innovation with the Internet of Everything – Are You Ready?

Date & Time: Tuesday, October 7. 10:15 – 11:00 a.m.

Location: Northern A-E (Dolphin)

Session Description: The Internet of Everything (IoE) is driving exponential change. IoE, the networked connection of people, process, data, and things, represents the most significant market transition since the Internet was created. In fact, by 2022, IoE has the potential to grow global corporate profits by an estimated 21%. Joseph Bradley built the foundation for Cisco Consulting Services and Cisco's IoE Practice by directing the research and creation of Cisco's influential IoE thought leadership titled, "Embracing the Internet of Everything To Capture Your Share of $14.4 Trillion" and "Internet of Everything (IoE) Value Index: How Much Value Are Private-Sector Firms Capturing from IoE in 2013?" This project was followed by further groundbreaking research that showed the total IoE value at stake for both enterprises and public sector organizations to be $19 trillion.

This research-based thought leadership was embraced by Cisco starting with the 2013 TOMORROW Starts Here corporate brand campaign and later became the rallying point for Cisco. With Cisco's backing, IoE has now been embraced by the technology industry at large and most of the world's top businesses and public sector organizations.

In this forward-looking, yet practical presentation, Bradley will share his top insights into how to plan, build, and oversee successful IoE initiatives that accelerate innovation and competitive advantage by sharing:

  • The keys to successful IoE initiatives with private and public sector examples
  • A guide to extracting maximum innovation value from IoE
  • The critical steps for business and IT leaders wanting to innovate with IoE

Session Bio: As General Manager of Cisco Consulting Services (CCS), Joseph Bradley is responsible for research, economics, communications, and business architecture, including the operational and financial analysis of the value resulting from the implementation, adoption and operation of transformational business and technology solutions. Bradley's latest thought leadership work, "Embracing the Internet of Everything To Capture Your Share of $14.4 Trillion," assigns and communicates a predicted value to creating networked connections: $14.4 trillion will be "at stake" for private-sector businesses globally for the next decade, driven by "connecting the unconnected" via the Internet of Everything.

Session ID & Title: SPS68 – The Internet of Everything Demands Innovation

Date & Time: Tuesday, October 7. 3:15 – 4 p.m.

Location: Swan 6 (Swan)

Session Description: The Internet of Everything is happening, from connected cities and governments to manufacturing to medical. It represents a $19 trillion opportunity for public and private sectors. It's critical that technology professionals understand the big picture, moving out of IT silos and taking an end-to-end business view with a services bent.

Session Bio: As General Manager of Cisco Consulting Services (CCS), Joseph Bradley is responsible for research, economics, communications, and business architecture, including the operational and financial analysis of the value resulting from the implementation, adoption and operation of transformational business and technology solutions. Session ID & Title: SW7 – Secure Mobility

Date & Time: Wednesday, October 8. 10:15 – 11 a.m.

Location: Europe 10 (Dolphin)

Session Description: Widespread use of consumer smartphones and tablets is the harbinger of massive change in how IT and InfoSec must operate to pave the way for the IoE/IoT tidal wave. In the not-too-distant future, we must prepare for a world where everything might have a valid reason for connecting to your organization's network, be it a Wi-Fi-enabled biomed organ sensor for post treatment care, a vending machine for just-in-time restocking, or motion sensors linked to power and heat controls. In this moderated peer exchange session, we will share how the changes we are implementing for user mobility tied to device management, service enablement, and data security can be considered within the larger backdrop of the strategy that will be necessary to address IoE/IoT.
