Carly Stoughton, Technical Marketing Engineer, Cisco
Date: Wednesday, May 6, 2015
Location: 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.
The session will provide an overview of the group-based policy-based approach for infrastructure management and demonstrate how to use those capabilities to automate network provisioning and monitoring for EMC VDM and Recover Point environments. We will also discuss security/compliance implications of the policy-based approach for virtualized application environments.
Craig Ashapa, Senior Technical Marketing Manager, Cisco
Date: Monday, May 4, 2015
Location: 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
This session will detail primary validated designs combining the strength of Cisco and EMC innovation to enable critical applications, including the Cisco Security solution for VSPEX, implementing VSPEX IaaS solutions using Cisco UCS Director, Cisco solution for Exchange 2013 on VSPEX, and next-generation SAP HANA solution on Cisco UCS and EMC storage.
Nitin Garg, Senior Manager, MDS Product Manager, Cisco
Date: Tuesday, May 5, 2015
Location: 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Proliferation of diverse application workloads is promoting a need for more highly scalable performance, greater flexibility, and simplified management in today's data centers. Join us to learn how you can use the latest platforms, software features, and management capabilities in the 16G Cisco MDS 9000 Family to deploy enhanced EMC physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
Demonstrations at the Cisco booth include:
Cisco Solutions for VSPEX from the Data Center to the Edge
See how Cisco solutions for VSPEX span the entire spectrum of applications from large-scale data center projects to ROBO, edge-based workloads. In both hardware and software, Cisco UCS integrated infrastructure (Cisco UCS servers, Cisco Nexus switches, and Cisco UCS Director management software) spans the entire enterprise with a holistic and consistent management solution. The new Cisco UCS Mini blade chassis enables unique hardware solutions in branch offices, factories, or retail stores. Stop by booth 221 and see how Cisco solutions for VSPEX can simplify your infrastructure needs from the data center to the edge.
Cisco UCS Director for Integrated Infrastructure Management
Learn how Cisco UCS Director improves consistency, efficiency, and speed by replacing time-consuming manual provisioning and deprovisioning of data center resources with automated workflows. Cisco UCS Director reduces application delivery time from weeks to minutes across Cisco UCS server, Cisco Nexus switches, and third-party compute and storage. In addition, this demonstration conveys the unique benefits that Cisco UCS Manager and Cisco UCS Central provide to one or more Cisco UCS managed compute domains. These domains can be located in the data center or geographically dispersed around the world covering thousands of virtual machines.
Multiprotocol Storage Networking
This demonstration highlights the benefits of Cisco's end-to-end FCoE and unified fabric solutions. This demo illustrates how to achieve LAN/SAN convergence using Cisco MDS and Cisco Nexus technology. Featured technologies include end-to-end FCoE, multihop FCoE, unified ports, VDC, and DCNM to manage both LAN and SAN from a single pane of glass.
Congestion Detection and Avoidance in Storage Area Networks
This demo highlights the basic concepts and features provided by Cisco MDS and Cisco Nexus switches for detection, troubleshooting, and automatic recovery during congestion of SANs. You will also learn how slow drain devices affect congestion and how to deploy new hardware and software (MDS, Cisco Nexus, and NX-OS)-based features today to have your own self-healing fabric and avoid congestion issues.
