Cisco Desktop Virtualization Automation simplifies the myriad complex and repetitive tasks necessary to create a robust XenDesktop platform and rapidly deploy virtual desktops to end users. With role-based access, busy, high-value XenDesktop administrators can still have ultimate control over the details of design and operation, handing down the day-to-day tasks to operators and eventually end users.
Wizards step you through the process of image registration, catalog creation, and other "housekeeping" tasks, so after the automation is defined, and virtual desktops are provisioned using the Cisco Workplace Portal, the service catalog and self-service portal for requesting virtual desktops. Cisco Desktop Virtualization Automation combines the flexibility of the Cisco UCS platform with the power of Citrix XenDesktop like never before.
Cisco Office in a Box for Branch and Remote Office Deployments
Description
The "office in a box" demo showcases the Cisco Integrated Services Router Generation 2 (ISR G2) with the Cisco UCS E-Series server. The demo highlights how a customer, by using the Cisco ISR G2 with Cisco UCS E-Series, can consolidate IT services and industry-specific applications in a branch/remote office into a single easy-to-manage Cisco office-in-a-box solution.
The ISR and Cisco UCS E-Series solution showcases a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)-in-a-box deployment, Cisco Video Surveillance Manager physical security solution, a Cisco Power over Ethernet (PoE) etherswitch, Cisco Communications Manager Express (CME) for voice-over-IP (VoIP) call control, and a Cisco virtual wireless LAN controller.
The demo includes Windows 7 desktops running on the Cisco UCS E-Series VDI, IP telephony services, and mobility. The user will be able to connect to a VDI Windows 7 desktop and share content across devices. The security cameras will be managed by Video Surveillance Manager (VSM) running on the Cisco UCS E-Series and will monitor traffic within the booth. The etherswitch provides network connectivity and power to the Wi-Fi access points, phones, Virtual Experience Client (VXC) clients, video cameras, and compact switch. We will also demonstrate how users can make their desktop and collaboration tools completely mobile.
