Membership to the Club is by invitation and is limited to senior executives. Meetings are two times a year and hosted by Club members.
MAKING THE CASE FOR GROWTH:
RISK MANAGEMENT IN AN INCREASINGLY COMPLEX BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT
As technology and organizational infrastructures become more complex, the need for risk management strategies and plans will only increase. The combination of the focus on operational efficiency, the increasing business dependence on IT, growing regulatory pressures, and the overwhelming push towards aligning IT costs/projects with business needs have forced many CIOs to take a more risk-focused approach with their own organizations. Today risk exists not only in technology risks—such as computer viruses, DoS attacks, and disaster recovery—but also in the business, organizational, and growth risks as well.
The conference will focus on many of the critical issues that affect IT risk mitigation and strategies involved in business growth, such as:
- Key challenges for industry and government agencies
- Aligning IT with organizational goals
- Security in a global economy
- The future of automation and web services
- Strategies to develop a risk-aware culture
- Plus, real-world case studies to highlight some implementation examples
Several member executives have offered to provide their viewpoint at the May meeting:
Lt. Gen. Harry D. Raduege Jr., Director, Defense Information Systems Agency
Alan Wade, Chief Information Officer, Central Intelligence Agency
Randy Pond, Senior Vice President Operations, Processes and Systems Group, Cisco Systems Inc.
Wednesday activities start in the early afternoon with registration and a tour of the Defense Department's Global Network Operations and Security Center. This center is the hub of activities for global DoD operations. Participants will receive a tour of facility operations and capabilities. In the evening a reception and keynote address and dinner will be offered. Thursday activities will start at 8:30 at the DISA headquarters in Falls Church Virginia. See agenda for complete details.
