Welcome to the first Connected Urban Development Global Conference 2008, February 20-21. Hosted by Cisco and the city and county of San Francisco, the conference gathers a global community of urban, business, research, and civic leaders committed to developing and using innovative solutions that address challenges in urban sustainability.

The theme of the conference is Connecting Cities: Innovation for Sustainability. At this two-day event, participants will have the opportunity to attend interactive sessions, discuss challenges they face, explore how cities are using information and communications technology to create solutions that help reduce carbon emissions, and establish a working community of collaboration.

We look forward to working together to create opportunities that foster innovation, encourage closer relationships among cities, and find new ways to harness the power of information and communications technology in an era of climate change.
