Cisco® is committed to accelerating government success through Internet business solutions, and in support of this has cofounded the Local Government E-Leaders' Forum, along with the London Borough of Hillingdon, and the Provincia di Brescia in Italy.

The prime objectives of the Forum are to create a community of local government visionaries and thought leaders who have a common interest in Internet-based technology and in using this technology to its fullest, and to secure funding from European government bodies for investment in the transformation of e-government by jointly developing projects and initiatives. Members are encouraged to share experiences and best practices in support of their shared goals.

The Forum's membership is open to representatives from local government bodies across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The Forum meets regularly; meetings are hosted by participating public-sector organizations at various locations around Europe.
