Presenter: Hanh Tu, Vice President, Service Provider Asia Pacific

Hanh has over twenty-three years of experience in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry and has been with Cisco for more than 9 years. He leads Cisco's Asia Pacific service provider sales team to focus on the infrastructure build out, new business formation, and NGN transformation of the wired line, wireless, cable and internet service providers.

Hanh is a leading member of Cisco's worldwide service provider business council and an Executive Councilor of the China Association of Communications Enterprises which is chaired by four minister level officials of Ministry Information Industry and represented by all leading service providers in the country..

The format of the teleconference will be approximately 120 minutes of presentations by Hanh, his leadership team and subject matter experts in three informative sessions with Questions and Answers time after each session.

Presenters:

Paul Fazzone is a Sr. Manager, Product Management working in Cisco's Server Access & Virtualization Business Unit.

He is responsible for planning and bringing to market data center access layer connectivity solutions for servers, both physical and virtual. Paul has more than a decade of experience in the data center and networking space combining end user, system engineering and product management roles. With a strong customer focus, Paul is passionate about creating a great experience for the data center administrator.

Omar Sultan is the Solution Manager for Data Center Switching for the Data Center Solutions team at Cisco Systems.

Omar has been at Cisco Systems since 1999 and his current responsibilities focus on marketing and positioning of the Cisco data center switching portfolio. Omar has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry working work for a number of Fortune 500 companies and also owned his own consultancy.

Prior to joining Cisco, Omar developed a broad range of experience including data center management, network operations, system engineering, field sales, and business systems analysis. Omar has also been an active CCIE since 1994 (CCIE # 1284).

Cisco AR Speaker Series Teleconference: Visual Networking Index (VNI)

Please join Cisco on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 10:30AM, Singapore time as we host a Speaker Series teleconference on the most recent update to its Visual Networking Index (VNI). Visual Networking is the combination of video and social networking/collaboration (Web 2.0) technologies. The Cisco VNI is an initiative to track and forecast the suite of visual networking applications. The VNI studies IP traffic trends and the primary factors fueling the continued rapid growth in IP traffic through 2012. Cisco content experts will be on hand to present key findings, explain the methodology, and address questions and comments from attendees.

Presenter: Arielle Sumits

Arielle Sumits is a senior analyst with Cisco Systems' worldwide service provider marketing group. She currently leads the company's IP traffic forecasting effort, the results of which have garnered extensive media coverage, recently appearing on the front page of the New York Times and page B1 of the Wall Street Journal. She has also engaged with some of the world's largest service providers on traffic measurement and forecasting.

Arielle has been an analyst with Cisco for eight years, and during that time has had the opportunity to cover a wide range of topics related to the telecommunications industry, from managed services to mobility, with a special focus on market sizing and end-user adoption patterns. Prior to joining Cisco, Arielle was a product manager for start-up Frictionless Commerce (acquired by SAP in 2006). Arielle holds a degree in Physics from MIT.

Presenter: Thomas Barnett, Jr.

Thomas Barnett is a senior manager of strategic communications and messaging for Cisco Systems worldwide service provider marketing group. In that capacity, he has responsibilities for marketing and content development focused on the company's IP Next-Generation (IP NGN) vision and architecture for service providers. Thomas has also helped coordinate the Cisco Connected Life messaging platform as well as the company's focus on the service provider to experience provider transformation, enabling network operators to deliver personalized services to consumers at home, at work, and on the move. Thomas has played a leadership role in the Cisco Visual Networking Index as well as a wide range of marketing projects designed for customer, press, analyst, and internal audiences.

Thomas has more than 10 years of telecom industry experience in a variety of service provider marketing roles (supporting optical, Ethernet, storage and other technologies). He was previously the marketing communications manager for start-up Fibex Systems (acquired by Cisco in May 1999). His focus has been in marketing programs and communications writing and developing product/marketing collateral, creating strategic partnerships and reference-sell relationships, etc. Thomas has more than 20 years of professional experience including previous marketing positions at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and Parker Hannifin Corporation.

He earned a B.A. degree in Journalism from Valparaiso University (Valparaiso, IN.)

He has held management positions with Compaq, Intel Corporation, VeriFone Internet Commerce, and Genesys Telecommunication Laboratories. Mr. Kost earned a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina.

Bob Berlin is Director, Product Management for Cisco Systems and is chartered with the product and strategic direction for Cisco's IOS Security portfolio. Prior to joining Cisco in 1996, he contributed to a number of start-up networking companies including Stratacom and Primary Access. He holds a MBA from Pepperdine University.

Cisco Data Center 3.0 Update


Over the past year, Cisco has virtualized key elements of the data center network. This has yielded the industry's broadest virtualized data center infrastructure solutions in the industry. The key theme of this session will focus on how Cisco is better enabling the Data Center and Branch infrastructure for applications by expanding application fluency and integration while leveraging virtualization to minimize branch and data center costs. The session will also include the introduction of new solutions. Ample time will be reserved for a question-and-answer session right after the presentation.

Presenters: Mark Weiner and Peter Linkin
Mark Weiner is Director of Market Management for Data Center Solutions at Cisco. In this role, he leads the marketing strategy for Cisco's Application Delivery technologies and solutions. Prior to joining Cisco, Weiner held executive level positions for both VC funded and publicly traded networking organizations including NetDevices, NetScaler, Redback Networks and Juniper Networks.

Peter Linkin brings over 20 years of industry experience in Application Infrastructure to his current role as Senior Marketing Manager for Cisco's Data Center Network Architecture, where he is responsible for driving awareness of the “Network As a Platform” for next-generation data center infrastructure. Prior to joining Cisco he was Snr. Director of Product Marketing at BEA Systems, and has held senior marketing roles with pioneering hardware and software technology vendors in Europe and USA.

Chris has a specific focus on articulating the business case for how a unified wired and wireless approach to enterprise-wide mobility can improve business profitability, increase productivity and lead to sustainable competitive advantage. He is responsible for the strategy and marketing of next generation wireless technologies including IEEE 802.11n, enterprise wireless mesh, and secure wireless solutions. Additionally, Chris is responsible for helping to ensure the success of Cisco's wireless team within the vertical markets through relevant collateral including ROI and TCO models and business cases. Prior to joining Cisco in 2006, Chris was with META Group where he served as a Program Director for Infrastructure Strategies, with a particular focus on enterprise communications. He has a B.A. from Ohio University and a Masters of Business Administration from Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain.

Cisco AR Speaker Series: Data Center 3.0 Infrastructure Transformation


Please join Doug Gourlay, Senior Director for Cisco's Data Center Solutions Group as he shares the next phase of Cisco's Data Center 3.0 vision and solutions. Cisco recently announced an innovative family of data center-class switching platforms, the Cisco Nexus Series, to meet customer demands for next-generation mission-critical data centers. As the data center transitions to a more services-centric model, the network plays a pivotal role in orchestrating virtual IT resources and scaling workloads. The Cisco Nexus 7000 Series was designed with this environment in mind, delivering the infrastructure chapter of Cisco's Data Center 3.0 vision.

During this presentation, Mr. Gourlay will provide an overview of the new data center platform with both hardware and software innovations, including:
- The Cisco Nexus 7000 Series, the flagship data center-class switching platform combining Ethernet, IP, and storage capabilities across one unified network fabric
- The Cisco Trusted Security (TrustSec) architecture
- An advanced operating system, the Cisco Nexus Operating System (NX-OS), and the Cisco Data Center Network Manager

Doug Gourlay has been a leader in the creation of Cisco development, investment, and architectural strategies combining emerging technologies with core infrastructure. As Senior Director for Data Center Solutions, Mr. Gourlay defines and executes Cisco's global marketing strategy for data center products and technologies, including storage and application networking, data center switching, high-performance computing, and WAN optimization. Under his leadership, the data center solutions segment has grown from a nascent business to a multi-billion-dollar global concern.
