The Industry Council Supplier Business Development Organization (ICSBD)Denise Coley, Director of Global Supplier Diversity Business Development at Cisco, Speaks on March 18, 2009 The Industry Council Supplier Business Development (ICSBD) Organization invited Denise Coley, Director of Global Supplier Diversity Business Development, as its guest speaker at the monthly luncheon meeting, held on March 18, 2009. Seventy-two ICSBD members attended the luncheon to learn “how to do business with Cisco”. Several points were made throughout the presentation, ranging from registration in our CVM portal, Cisco’s sourcing process and opportunities, building strategies for success, and “10 key points” to being successful as a small business and diverse supplier seeking opportunities with key corporations. After the presentation many suppliers came forward to speak with Denise and ask several questions. The “How to Do Business” presentation is one of several in a series of business presentations that Denise presents throughout the United States and globally to Cisco partners, customers, suppliers, and executives. ICSBD was formed in 1986 as a nonprofit entity dedicated to promoting large business contract opportunities for small business (SB), small woman-owned business (SWOB), and small disadvantaged business (SDB) concerns. This support of small business was originally driven by compliance directives of the Small Business Administration, executive orders, and sections of the public laws. Today, many corporations support these efforts as part of smart business practices. Cisco is a corporate sponsor of this organization, and members of Denise’s team play an active role on the Board of Directors.
