Cisco values the diversity of thought that leads to innovation, which is why the company is so committed to leading the way with K-12 educational outreach programs for the next generation. Women's Action Networks
FY2006, the Cisco Women's Action Networks held more than 140 Girls in Technology ) events and reached close to 5000 girls worldwide. Women's Action Network volunteers from all over the world hold these events, and the number of girls who participate grows every year. These events encourage girls to explore their interests in math, science, and engineering.

Cisco and the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Partnership
As part of the Girls/Women in Technology Initiative, Cisco worked with the NCWIT to encourage and educate women and minorities to pursue science, technology, engineering, and math careers. Under this partnership, Cisco has developed a digital library Website for K-12 students to explore careers in technology.

Cisco & CWIT Partnership
Cisco worked with the CWIT to present Computer Mania Day in the United States, a half day of technology-related activities for middle-school girls, teachers, parents, and community members. Cisco became a bronze-level sponsor in May 2004, the second year of the event, and a silver-level sponsor in 2005 and 2006.

Florida Girls Get IT
In conjunction with the Florida Department of Education, Florida’s Agency for Workforce Innovation, and the Florida community college system, Cisco helped to pilot a program to increase female participation and graduation rates in IT, science, and engineering, and to excite middle- and secondary-school participants about the opportunities for females in technology.
