Currently the company has a Gender Diversity Council, a group of senior executive members who represent every Cisco business function. The council promotes a culture of inclusion, addressing barriers such as a shortage of role models and mentors. In partnership with the Worldwide Diversity and Inclusion team, the council creates the company vision and strategy for diversity and inclusion. The council also oversees hiring, development and advancement, retention, and culture initiatives for women throughout the company. In 2007, Cisco will transition the Gender Diversity Council to a Diversity Council, which will encompass all elements of diversity. |
