What is it like to work here?
Working at Cisco so far has been one of the most dynamic and exciting challenges I have faced. From the start, each employee is expected to be a major asset to the team and have a large role, which is very exciting.
What is a typical "day in the life" like? What do you spend your time doing?
A typical day at the office usually starts with answering emails. Throughout the day, I interface with co-workers on my team from San Jose to Boston to Italy via instant messaging, phone, email, Meetingplace, TelePresence, etc. I use time in between formal meetings to catch up with co-workers and finish up projects at my desk.
How do you work together with your team?
My team is highly collaborative and willing to help each other finish a job well. We talk often to touch base on projects and help each other achieve our immediate and long term goals.
Why did you choose to work at Cisco?
I chose to work at Cisco because I wanted to get a solid start at a great company out of college. The culture is open and friendly and Cisco’s fast-paced, forward progress is exciting.
What is your favorite thing about working here?
My favorite thing about working here is the willingness of my team to help or recommend someone to help when I need expertise while working on a project. Everyone is very open and friendly and it makes my job that much easier.
What advice would you give to anyone interested in joining Cisco?
Don’t shy away from challenges and projects as they arise. Be your outgoing, friendly self and don’t hesitate to reach out to others.
