Recruiting Process Explained

The recruiting process starts with your application. If you already know Cisco is the place for you, browse through the open positions and apply. Feel free to accelerate your search by job category or location. When you’re ready, click "Apply" and complete your user account.

Want more information? Meet us at university events. Cisco's involved in a number of on-campus activities including career fairs, information sessions, office hours, club activities and more. In case we're not visiting a campus near you, we use our in-house Cisco WebEx technology to host virtual events. You can also find us participating in a variety of regional and national diversity conferences.

Recruiting Process Steps

While the details may vary by position, here are a few tips for applying and interviewing for positions at Cisco Systems


The recruiting process starts with your application. Browse through the open positions, select the position title and click on the “find locations” button. It is required that you create an Account followed by a Profile if you have not done so already. Your resume and profile can now be viewed for consideration by the recruitment team. Some positions have required pre-assessments. In order for your application to be complete you must fill out this assessment.

The selection process varies by region and position. Cisco has a robust and active on-campus strategy where we are recruiting students from targeted universities. The recruitment team will reach out to online applicants that meet our minimum qualifications for the position based on the current requisition demand and where we are in the University recruitment cycle. In addition to on-campus recruitment activities we will select and interview online applicant's onsite, via WebEx and Telepresence.

Final decisions are a collaborative effort made by collecting all interview feedback. Should you be selected for an offer you will be contacted by a recruiter regarding next steps.

To start the offer process the recruitment team will reach out to you with the offer details via telephone. Your offer will be sent electronically and your offer deadline is typically dependent on your school guidelines and recommendations.
