It all began when I ran into an old friend who told me that she was working for a technology company that specializes in networking. I decided to go home and get onto Cisco's website to do some research. I got to see and understand how diverse Cisco is. In the same week I came across an article in the Fortune magazine where Cisco was rated the 25th best company to work for in the United States in 2006. This got me excited even more and I immediately knew that this was a company I wanted to work for. My first impression of Cisco was that it was a young, dynamic, challenging and a fast paced company. One of the best things about working for Cisco is that the culture is warm, innovative thinking is encouraged and people are always willing to lend a hand, especially when you are new in the company. Being at Cisco has taught me to take on challenges, learn from mistakes, given me a broader perspective on how great technology is. This has also given me an opportunity to know and understand the role that Cisco is playing in changing the lives of people and the way organizations conduct business and communicate on a daily basis. As a young graduate who is passionate about technology, I believe Cisco is an ideal place to learn, grow and build a good career in technology. Because of the interesting technologies that Cisco specializes in, going to work everyday is exciting. Part of my job as a Systems Engineer Intern involves setting up demo kits and working on the actual equipment such as routers and switches which I find challenging as well as interesting at the same time. It is exciting to know and understand how information travels when accessing a website such as Cisco.com or Google. I am inspired to learn more everyday and about my future growth at Cisco. |
