Welcome to the Cisco Takeback and Recycle Program. This program is the method Cisco uses to comply with the regulations on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) in Switzerland. Cisco International Limited. has taken producer responsibility for Cisco labeled electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) in Switzerland.
This means that Cisco assumes the producer responsibility set forth in the Swiss regulations to fund the collection, treatment, and environmentally sound management of Cisco labeled waste of electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Cisco also assumes responsibility for reporting “put on the market” data and all other reporting requirements relating to the collection, reuse, recycling, and recovery as required to comply with the Swiss regulations.
As a result, Cisco manages its own collection scheme. All Cisco partners and Cisco end-user customers should use the Cisco Takeback and Recycle Program to send end-of-useful-life products to Cisco for proper collection, treatment, and environmentally sound management in compliance with the Swiss WEEE regulations.
In addition to the existing Takeback and Recycle Program for end–of-useful-life, business products, Cisco has now registered with the Swiss collective scheme, SWICO. Cisco has taken this additional step in order to cover any potential leakage of Cisco or its subsidiary branded business or consumer products into the municipal waste streams and that were not collected under the aforementioned Takeback and Recycle Program. This membership covers all Cisco branded products.
