DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – May 3, 2015 – Smart hospitality will be a key differentiator for Dubai Smart City, Cisco announced.

With Smart Tourism a Dubai Smart City pillar, and 25 million visitors expected for World Expo 2020, hotels need to find a competitive differentiator – Dubai is adding 24,000 quality rooms and serviced apartments by 2017 alone, according to a report.

Airlines, airports, transport providers, hotels, and retailers – should deliver a unified platform to provide communications and intelligence to ensure that visitors have seamless experiences in Dubai, encouraging them to stay longer and view the city as a repeat destination.

No city in the Middle East has more closely aligned itself with the Smart-City goal than Dubai. The Dubai Smart City initiative calls for taking advantage of the power of the Internet of Everything (IoE) in order to make Dubai deliver real value in the key areas of life, economy and tourism.

The value at stake from the Internet of Everything is the combination of net new revenue, cost savings, and the value that migrates to organizations, industries, communities, and cities that take advantage of new connection-based capabilities. Cisco's conservative estimate of the IoE value at stake for Dubai is a potential AED 17.9 billion (USD 4.87 billion) by 2019.
