Cisco Hosts Second Cisco X Forum

Dubai, February 19, 2008 – Cisco® today hosted its second Cisco X forum, which had attracted more than 700 senior business and technology decision makers. The event took a closer look at the key trends driving globalization and innovation as well as the role ICT plays in developing innovative solutions for the enterprise, public sector and real estate industries.
Highlighting the concept of ‘the network as the platform’, Sam Alkharrat, managing director of Cisco Gulf and Pakistan, discussed the role ICT plays in developing innovative solutions and highlighted key technology enablers that drive innovation which include: mobile technology, video conferencing, digital media and unified communications.
According to Alkharrat, Cisco TelePresence, the company’s own ultra high definition video conferencing solution is one such application. Through utilizing Cisco’s innovations in video, audio and remote communication technology over the Internet Protocol (IP) network, Cisco TelePresence is paving the way for transformational business models by delivering a vivid personal experience.
Several partners were present at Cisco X, including Fluke Networks, Panduit, Injazat, Emirates Computers, Dimension Data, ARC Solutions, Commscope, Wipro, GBM and IST Networks.
