CISCO Connects 7th International Festival of Film of Marrakech
Delegates of FIFM will have access to high speed Internet throughout the duration of the festival from 7th to 15th of December 2007

Marrakech, Morocco, 7th December 2007 Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking that transforms how people connect, communicate and collaborate announced today that Cisco was selected by The Foundation of the International Festival of Film of Marrakech to bring Innovative technology that will create a totally new experience to the conference delegates. Some of the technology being used will be showcased for the first time ever in Morocco.
Cisco will offer and manage a hotspot service that will provide high-speed, wireless Internet connectivity to the Festival delegates and visitors. Attendees of the 7th FIFM including local, regional and international movie stars, studio executives, journalists, industry professionals and festival’s administrative staff, will be able to enjoy access to the festival’s Wi-Fi service over a broadband Internet connection.
Never seen before in Morocco, Cisco will be deploying its innovative Digital Media System that can allow organizers to communicate and share live and visual content with festival delegates. Information such as video announcements, event agenda, movie trailers and event sponsor commercial messages will be running live across three High Definition plasma screens located at strategic locations on the festival venue.

Mounir added that being online has shifted from basic connectivity to the point where the network is at an inflection point where it’s more than a physical network – it’s about the human network and the end user is in charge.
“The human network has become pervasive in our lives changing how we communicate, how we work, how we socialize and how we are entertained - it’s all about the experience,” concluded Abderrahmane Mounir.
Hot spots are Internet access points that utilize wireless technology known as 802.11 or Wi-Fi and are becoming popular in public places such as coffee shops, airports, hotels and coffee shops. Access to the Hotspots at the 7th Festival International du Film de Marrakech is free-of-charge.
