Cisco Systems paves way for regional debut of Intelligent Networking at Gitex Dubai 2005

Company to showcase advanced technologies including Application-Oriented Networking (AON), Wide Area File Services (WAFS) and Server Virtualization for the first time in region

Dubai, August 27, 2005 – Cisco Systems, will break new ground at Gitex Dubai 2005 as it unveils for the first time in the region, its Application-Oriented Networking (AON) technology. AON adds intelligence to the network, enabling it to better understand business-application communications to support more effective and efficient business decisions.

The company will also demonstrate at Gitex Dubai 2005 its Wide Area File Services (WAFS) and Server Virtualization solutions . Cisco's WAFS technology uses sophisticated protocol level caching to deliver En terprises and Organizations, the benefits of consolidated storage and server infrastructure and fast file access across a distributed network. Cisco Systems' newly acquired Topspin InfiniBand-based server switching range provides a high performance, programmable infrastructure for grid and utility computing, clustered enterprise applications, and server virtualization, which extends to Cisco's leading Data Center network and storage switching solutions and transforms the role of the network into a true intelligent computing platform.
