EVENT INFORMATION

What is Public Sector Summit?

The Public Sector Summit is platform for participants and stakeholders in selected key NeGP initiatives to identify and address implementation and sustainability issues. The summit will touch upon all key Government & Public Sector Units in re-instating our commitment towards driving the e-Governance initiatives and helping the Government.


Why should I attend?

The Agenda of the Summit has been designed with the participation of Information Technology to ensure that it addresses current top priorities regarding implementation of the NeGP. The Summit will focus on three themes: e-Districts, Unique ID and Capacity Building & Leading Transformational Change.

The Summit is marked with the presence of eminent speakers and leading e-Governance practitioners from India and across the globe, including John Chambers, Chairman and CEO, Cisco Inc.


Where and when is the Public Sector Summit 2007 to be held?

The Summit will be hosted at Hotel InterContinental EROS, Nehru Place, New Delhi, India from 29th – 30th October, 2007.


Who may attend the Public Sector Summit?

The Summit by invitation-only event.

Are spouses/partners or children permitted to attend the Summit?

The Summit meetings and social events will not be open to spouse/partner or children.If you wish to bring your spouse/partner or children, all expenses must be paid on your personal account.


How do I register?

Complete your details on the registration page including the accommodation and travel sections (if required).

Registration must be completed before 26th October, 2007.

Am I expected to attend all events of the Summit?

Yes, you are expected to attend all activities.


How much does it cost to attend the Public Sector Summit?

Registration & participation fees for the invited delegates are complimentary.


Outstation Delegate:

What are the additional cost associated with travel & stay for outstation delegate planning to attend Public Sector Summit 2007?

The cost towards outstation delegate travel & stay (in Delhi) is additional.

"In case you are an outstation delegate requiring travel and stay support, NISG and Cisco would be pleased to sponsor your return Air travel by economy class and hotel stay at Delhi during the Public Sector Summit 2007. In the coming days you would receive an electronic mail seeking your confirmation that your attendance in the event complies with the relevant gift policies of your organisation and procurement and other applicable laws and regulations of India. This electronic mail will contain detailed steps that you would need to take to provide such confirmation, which will be recorded electronically. Cisco and the NISG will only be able to bear the costs related to outstation attendee’s travel and accommodation upon receiving the electronic record of the certification being provided by you accordingly we request your completion of this process."


What is the attire for the Public Sector Summit?

Conference: Business casuals

What language(s) will be used at the Summit?

The meeting will be conducted in English. All presentations will be posted in English after the Summit.


Are photos or recordings permitted?

No, unfortunately this is not allowed during the conference. There will be an official photographer present, and photos will be posted on the event website after the Summit.


What time should I arrive and on what date?

Out Station candidates: Your early arrival on 29th October in New Delhi is expected in order to have adequate time for transport to the hotel, hotel check-in, event registration, and attendance at the reception at 2:00 pm.

Candidates from Delhi : To arrive at the venue by 2:00pm on 29th October.

ACCOMMODATIONS

What hotel should I stay at?

The official event hotel is InterContinental EROS, Nehru Place New Delhi.


Is it possible to extend my stay in Delhi?

Yes, it is possible to extend the stay. But in that case any expense beyond the stipulated time of the package will be borne by you. The charges per night at Hotel InterContinental EROS is USD 265 plus taxes.


Who do I contact if I have questions regarding my accommodation booking?

Please email your accommodation to nidhi@espindia.org to make any changes to your original booking.

Changes can be made upto 26th October, after which further changes can not be guaranteed without penalty.


What is the cancellation policy?

If you are unable to attend & need to cancel your registration, please email nidhi@espindia.org urgently.

GENERAL INFROMATION

What is the currency in India? How much should I exchange?

The official Indian currency is the Rupee. The exchange rate is pegged to the US dollar at approximately Rupees 39.79 to USD 1.


Will the hotel have high speed internet access?

Yes, broadband is available in all of the guest rooms.

Please note that all incidental charges, including telephone and Internet charges will be at your own expense.


What local tourist or recreational options will be available?

The Summit does not include any tourist or recreational activities within the agenda.
