The Tour of Alberta is a Canadian bicycle six-stage race with stage routes traveling throughout rural Alberta, villages, towns and small cities, which rarely, if ever, have had the benefit of seeing, let alone hosting, major international sporting events in their communities. The tour has gained vast popularity and is now one of the highest rated events in the Union Cycliste International America Tour.
The festivals occur in seven start and finish communities across Alberta and provide educational, community outreach, and healthy living programs in a festive environment with entertainment, family fun and kids' activities in addition to the main cycling event. Attendance comes from much more than just cycling fans, attendees ranging from families, sports fans, athletic enthusiasts, adventure seekers, festival goers and international tourists!
