Ian Cox

Ian Cox

Ian Cox is currently a Distinguished Technical Marketing Engineer in the Data Centre Technology Group, and has been with Cisco for eighteen years. He is currently working on the definition of next generation products for Data Centre switching, focusing on High End Modular Switching, specifically the Nexus 7000. His previous experience includes Cisco 7600 and Catalyst 6500 products with Network Design for Campus, MAN and WAN Networks, MPLS, QoS and IP routing scalability networking testing. He holds a Bachelor of Business in Information Processing, and achieved his CCIE in 1994. He has worked with TCP/IP routing since 1988, both as an end customer as well as in Technical Support.

Brian Hart

Brian Hart

Brian Hart received his BE in Electrical Engineering in 1992 and his PhD in wireless communications in 1996, both from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. He continued his wireless research as Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies at the Australian National University and as signal processing architect at the startup Radiata Communications then, after its acquisition, at Cisco Systems. Dr Hart’s contributions included the DSP design of the baseband chip used in the 1130/1240-series Aironet APs. More recently Dr Hart has worked on radio resource measurement, indoor propagation modelling, geolocation using Wi-Fi, and next-generation WLAN standards and their certification within the IEEE 802.11 Working Group, the Wi-Fi Alliance and the Wireless Gigabit Alliance (WGA). Dr Hart is currently a Principal Engineer within the Strategic Initiatives Group of the Wireless Networking BU, a chair of the 802.11ac MU-MIMO ad hoc and a Director of the WGA.

Victor Moreno

Victor Moreno, is a Distinguished Engineer at Cisco Systems responsible for the definition of next generation virtualisation architectures and protocols. Victor has more than 15 years of industry experience focused on enterprise and data centre design and architecture. Victor is a recognised expert in the field of virtual enterprise networks and holds several patents that are at the foundation of the key protocols and networking technologies that enable network virtualisation and cloud connectivity. He has worked directly with major customers and designs worldwide and has done extensive research on the topic of virtualisation, being a driving force within Cisco and earlier Digital Equipment Corporation for new product definition and technological direction. Victor is the co-author of the Cisco Press title: Network Virtualisation and has published a multitude of technical papers and articles on behalf of Cisco Systems. Victor holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Simón Bolívar University, as well as Master Degrees and Specialisations from the Universities of York, Cambridge and Stanford. Victor's current areas of focus include Network Overlays (with a keen focus on LISP, OTV and VXLAN), Cloud Networking and Software Defined Networking Architectures.

Bryan Morris

Bryan Morris

Bryan currently manages global team of Technical Marketing engineers working on the Cisco Jabber portfolio. His primary focus area is Jabber desktop clients and its integration to directory and applications. Bryan has been with Cisco over 10 years during that time has worked on Routing, IP telephony, Unified Communication and collaboration technology areas. Prior to working at Cisco he spent time with Bay Networks and Rover Group. Bryan lives in the UK with his wife and daughter and when not working spends time skating at his local ice rink.

Troy Sherman

Troy Sherman
Technical Leader, Engineer

Troy has worked at Cisco for over 14 years starting in Advanced Services as a Program Manager and then moving up to Manager. He then left AS to move into Enterprise Sales in the Kansas City sales office. He then relocated from the Kansas City to the mother ship in San Jose California. During his time in San Jose, he worked in Central Marketing as a Technical Marketing Engineer looking at security at layer 2 and Cisco switches. He then moved to the Voice Technology Group as both a TME and then as a security architect. He was then asked to work on Virtual Desktop security for some time before taking a job working on social networking security in the Enterprise Collaboration group that creates the enterprise social networking software called WebEx Social.

Rodney Thomson

Rodney Thomson
Systems Engineer

Rodney has worked for Cisco for more than 10 years, first in the Customer Proof of Concept Labs, then in the Telstra Team and now as a Systems Engineer in the Public Sector group. He is a CCIE and has a specialisation in Data Centre Switching and an interest in QoS and Big Data.

He has a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours in Electronics and Communications and a Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Communications. He has been involved with some of the premium WAAS and WAN Routing deployments in Australia.
