Getting Started with Cisco

This section provides you with all the resources and information that you need to 'Get Started with Cisco':

  • The "How to use Cisco CCO" web site guide is found on the main partner site /public/Partner_root.shtml . This also provides a useful summary of what is available on CCO (Cisco Connection Online).
  • Register yourself on the web site and how to get a CCO login.
  • Then apply to become a partner.
  • To update your individual profile to ensure that you are sent the relevant latest information from Cisco.
  • Partner Relationship Central: Hosts links to all the web tools that enable Cisco Partners to manage their relationship with Cisco.
  • Partner Business Central: Hosts links to all the web tools that enable Cisco Partners to research products, configure a solution, and place and track an order.

Relationship and Data Management Tools

  • Get Partner Access to Cisco.com: New contacts can get partner-level access to CCO or change their company. Approval required by Partner Admin, CAM, or theater rep. The default Partner Admin is both the primary contact and the certification contact, and either of them can designate an additional Partner Admin. If the Partner Admin does not approve/deny a request within 2 business days, it is escalated to the CAM. Tool funded by Americas International.

  • Partner Information Management : Suite of tools and workflow that allows employees of Cisco Partners and Authorized resellers to manage their personal information in the Cisco partner database. E.g. business phone number, email address, and mailing address.
  • Channel Partner Application (CPApp): Recruitment vehicle for VARs enabling them to apply to be an authorized VAR or upgrade to Specialized or Certified status.

    User Guide (oriented for Premiers, but helpful for everyone)
  • My Company's Data at Cisco (MCDC): Enables partners to update certain aspects of their demographic and relationship data and store it to the partner database. Access is limited to the Certification Contact and the Author identified in CPApp. However, these two can assign a Partner Admin to manage the data for them. E.g. Add, Delete, Edit, or View Locations and Contacts.

  • Partner e-Support on PRC: Allows partners and CAMs to search a knowledge base of FAQs and answers (Instant Answers). If the answer is not found, the partner can open a case (Ask a Question). You can also check the status of a case (My Support History).

Locators

  • Partner Locator : Allows users to locate Cisco Partners based on geography, Cisco qualifications and company name. There are similar tools for locating distribution partners and CAMs.
  • CAM Locator : Locator that allows partners or end customers to search on geography or partner names and will return the CAM associated with that partner in the Partner Database.
  • Distributor Locator : Locator that allows partners or end customers to search by theater or country and will return the Distributor associated with that country or region in the Partner Database.
