The Cisco ONS 15530 is a highly scalable optical multiservice aggregation platform designed for high density aggregation of Storage and GigE interfaces over DWDM. The ONS 15530 maximizes fiber utilization by supporting up to 40 ports of ESCON per wavelength. It is scalable from 2.5Gbps to 10Gbps wavelengths and supports a wide range of protocols such as ESCON, FC, FICON, GigE, SONET/SDH and others, making it ideal for high-bandwidth and high-capacity applications that power the data centers of large enterprises. Additionally, it supports remotely-provisionable Variable Optical Attenuator (VOA) modules to further enhance scalability as well reduce total cost of ownership.
