Helping Others
There are so many ways you can help your community and communities throughout the world. You need to think about what you want to do and what you are able to do. Are you interested in working with others to collect funds for medical research? Are you interested in collecting food and clothing for needy families? Are your interested in working to save the earth's environment? Are you interested in working to help prevent abuse of animals?
It may be easiest for you to work with a local agency such as charity group, a hospital, a nursing home, a homeless shelter, an animal shelter, etc., but you might also consider taking part in an international help project.
As you think about helping others, consider how technology can help you help them. What technology resources do you have at your fingertips that you could use right now for community service? How about making posters to encourage people to adopt homeless animals? How about writing letters to the nice folks in a local nursing home? How about using your computers to organize a drive to provide presents to children whose families cannot afford to give them presents during the holiday season or on their birthdays? How about using your computer knowledge to teach others (even adults) so that they can better understand how computers can be used to help them?
No matter what you do, you will enjoy doing it. It's so important to develop a spirit of giving—of helping.
