1. Why is the Multinational Program ending?

The Multinational Program was developed by Cisco eight years ago, and over the years, as Cisco's worldwide partner base has increased we have observed a significant decrease in the number of customers using the Multinational Program when placing orders.

2. What are my alternatives to using the Multinational Program if I have a need for product to be deployed internationally?

To accommodate your international delivery requirements, we recommend you place your multinational Cisco order directly with a Cisco Channel Partner. Placing international delivery orders directly with a worldwide Cisco Channel Partner has many benefits:

  • Cost savings, no longer need to pay 15%+ in Multinational Program fees
  • In-country warranty support available through the local partner
  • Shorter delivery times, depending on product
3. How can I find a channel partner who can provide international service?

To locate a Cisco Channel Partner in your country of need, please visit our Partner Locator.

4. I am a Cisco authorized reseller. How can I find a Distributor internationally?

To find an Authorized Cisco Distributor that stocks and resells Cisco's full line of products to authorized resellers, please click here.

5. Is it possible to use a freight forwarder of my choice to deliver product to an international location?

Yes, however you must be sure that you have importer of record capabilities in the country that you are exporting to. Customers who choose this option must have knowledge of country specific regulations. If the customer does not have Importer of Record capabilities, the product could get stuck in customs, destroyed or confiscated.

6. I am a Cisco channel partner. What are my options?

If you have delivery requirements to territories covered in your Cisco Partner Agreement, please collaborate directly with your freight forwarder of choice to accommodate the international shipment. If you have delivery requirements to territories outside those identified in your Cisco Partner Agreement, please contact an authorized distributor in the territory to purchase the product. Alternatively, you can collaborate with a partner who is authorized and qualified to sell and support Cisco products in this territory.

7. When will the Multinational Program no longer be available?

The Cisco Multinational Program will be officially retired as of March 30th, 2002. Multinational orders placed prior to March 30th, 2002 will be fulfilled and delivered.

8. Who can I contact to discuss this further?

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the retirement of the Cisco Multinational Program, please contact your Cisco Customer Service Representative

9. Will International SMARTNET still be available?

Yes, the retirement of the Multinational Program will have no impact on international SMARTNET services
that are currently available. To verify the availability of SMARTNET worldwide, please use the Service
