Installation Requirements

Installation Requirements

Installing Cisco ICM WebView software on a real-time distributor Admin Workstation allows it to become a Web server on a corporate intranet.

You use the Configuration Manager's User List tool to add users and assign permissions for users to access some or all of the various functions of Cisco ICM WebView software.

When you assign usernames and passwords to Cisco ICM WebView software users, they can use a Web browser to:

See the Cisco ICM WebView software online help for information about using Cisco ICM WebView software.

Cisco ICM WebView Software AW Requirements

This section summarizes the hardware and software required for Cisco ICM WebView software.

System Requirements

Confirm that your Admin Workstation:

Although WebView will run on Windows NT or Windows 2000 without the mentioned service packs, it is recommened, especially for security reasons, that you have the those security packs installed.

If you are not sure if your Admin Workstation meets these requirements, contact your Cisco ICM software representative.

Upgrading from a Previous Version of Cisco ICM WebView Software

If you are upgrading your installation from a previous version of Cisco ICM WebView software, de-install the ChartFX application that was used by the previous version of WebView.

If you plan to create new report templates for your users (in addition to the report templates provided with the WebView program), you must install the 4.6 version of the Cisco ICM Software Custom Screen Builder program. Upgrading your Custom Screen Builder program will also require you to install the 7.0.3 version of the InfoMaker program from Sybase.

See "Third-Party Software Requirements" earlier in this chapter, for information about Web sites where you can download the browser you prefer.

Follow the download and installation instructions on the web site for the browser you decide to install.

Updating Your Browser's Cache

In order for your browser to display real-time report monitoring and script monitoring, you must enable the browser's settings so that with every visit to a real-time report monitoring or script monitoring page, the version of that page in the browser's cache will be compared and updated to any newer version on the Cisco ICM WebView software Admin Workstation. The following information was correct when this document was written, but you can check the online help for your browser to confirm the correct procedure for your browser.

Internet Explorer 5.0

How to ensure cache updates in Internet Explorer 5.0

Step 1   In the Internet Explorer window, choose Internet Options on the Tools menu.

Step 2   If necessary, click the General tab to display the General Settings tab page.

Step 3   On the General Settings tab page, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click Settings.

Step 4   In the Settings dialog box, enable the Every visit to the page option, then click OK.

Step 5   Click OK in the Internet Options dialog box.

Netscape Navigator 4.7

How to ensure cache updates in Netscape Navigator 4.7

Step 1   In the Netscape Navigator window, choose Preferences on the Edit menu.

Step 2   In the hierarchy pane on the left side of the Preferences dialog box, click Advanced, then click Cache.

Step 3   In the Cache pane on the right side of the Preferences dialog box, enable the Every time option.

Installing Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack 4.0

Installing Microsoft Windows NT Option Pack 4.0 provides your AW system with the software that Cisco ICM WebView software requires, including:

Installing Internet Information Server (IIS) Version 4 from Server Option Pack 4.0

The Internet Information Server (IIS) software includes the Web service and FTP server components you need to create an intranet or Internet web site. It also automatically installs the Active Server Pages (ASP) utility.

Use the following procedure to install Internet Information Server IIS Version 4 from the Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server Option Pack 4.0.

How to install Internet Information Server (IIS)

Step 1   Run the setup.exe file from the Windows NT 4.0 Server Option Pack 4.0.

Step 2   When you are prompted, choose the minimal installation.

Step 3   When prompted, verify where to install the following two required options (Cisco ICM WebView software does not require any of the remaining options, although you can enable them if you want to), and click OK.

When prompted, click Yes to create a World Wide Web Publishing directory. Call the directory:

wwwroot

and place it in the InetPub directory on your C or D drive.

Step 4   The IIS software finishes installing and displays the final dialog box.

Step 5   Click OK to finish the IIS installation.

Step 6   When prompted, click Yes to restart your system.

Installing Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6A

Use the following procedure to install Service Pack 6A for Windows NT 4.0.

How to install Service Pack 6A

Step 1   Run the Service Pack 6A update.exe file.

Step 2   If this is the first time you are installing Service Pack 6A, when the software prompts you to create an Uninstall Directory, click Yes.

-OR-

If this is not the first time you are installing Service Pack 6A, do not create an Uninstall directory—click No.

Installing the WebView Third-Party Software CD

Use the WebView Third-Party Software CD for installing:

How to install the third-party software

Run the top level Setup.exe program. This will perform several checks on your system and systematically call the third-party installers for you. The setup program automatically starts and stops the installed services on an as needed basis. So during the installation of the software, there is no need for you to do this.

The following is a summary of the installation procedure. See the README.txt file on the third-party CD for any further information.

Step 1   Run the top-level Setup.exe program. Follow the instructions presented on the screen.

Step 2   Before installing the software, the setup program checks to see if the IIS service is running and displays a web page if it is.

If it is running, click OK at the prompt. If it is not running, you need to exit the setup program and install/start the IIS service first. Then restart Setup.exe.

Step 3   At the prompt, install the Sun JDK 1.3.1 Software.

Accept the default values each dialog box presents.

Step 4   At the prompt, install the New Atlanta Servlet Exec.

Accept the default values each dialog box presents. If there is a previous New Atlanta Servlet Exec installed, the program first uninstalls that. Take the default options.

Step 5   At the prompt, install the Jaguar CTS software.

Accept the default values each dialog box presents, until you are asked if you want to install Jaguar CTS 3.5 as NT Service.

Step 6   After the program installs Jaguar CTS3.5, it automatically turns off the Jaguar service before installing the Jaguar 3.6.1 update software. So at the Jaguar installation prompt asking if the Jaguar service is running, respond NO and continue with the installation.

Step 7   At the prompt, choose to install Jaguar CTS 3.6.1 as NT Service.

Note   The Jaguar 3.6.1 update is installed in the Jaguar 3.5 directory.

A Post Jaguar CTS Installation Troubleshooting Hint

After you have installed the Jaguar CTS software, if for some reason, you want to modify the Jaguar properties in the Jaguar Manager for the first time, go to the Jaguar server properties tab (the Java VM tab) and select Javasoft JDK 11.x. See the Sybase Jaguar CTS manual for more information.

Setting the Size of the Jaguar Log File

Jaguar software writes to a log file as it processes information. Since the log file can grow continuously, you need to set its size.

How to set the size of the Jaguar log file

Step 1   In the Start menu, select Programs > Sybase > Jaguar CTS > Jaguar Manager. This opens the Sybase Central Java Edition dialog box.

Step 2   In Tools menu of the Sybase Central Java Edition dialog box, select Connect > Jaguar Manager. This opens the Login dialog box.

Step 3   In the Login dialog box:

Step 4   In the directory tree box of the Sybase Central Java Edition dialog box, click Jaguar Manager and then the Servers branch.

Step 5   In the Servers column on the right side of the dialog box, right click on Jaguar and in the pop-up menu, select Server Properties.

Step 6   In the Server Properties dialog box, select the Log /Trace tab.

Step 7   In the Log/ Trace tab:

Step 8   Exit the Sybase Central Java Edition dialog box.

Deleting Jaguar Log Files

Once you set the log file's size, Jaguar creates a new log file each time the data grows beyond the selected size. Consequently you can have many log files. So you should now and then delete old log files to keep them from unnecessarily consuming too much space on your system.

How to delete Jaguar Log Files

To delete unnecessary Jaguar log files, go to the Jaguar root directory, where they are stored. The default location for this directory is
%JAGUARROOT%\bin
.
