Cisco Technical Assistance Center Certification
A Guarantee of Timely Technical Information from Cisco
As the leader in networking products and services for the Internet,
no one understands better than Cisco how important it is to resolve
issues quickly and completely. This is why Cisco posts more technical
support information on its Web site than any other company in the
industry. With such a wealth of information to choose from, finding
the most timely and relevant resources can be challenging. To help
customers quickly identify the most current, timely online technical
information they need, Cisco has created the Technical Assistance
Center (TAC) Certification program.
TAC Certification
Cisco TAC Certification is a program designed to help customers
quickly identify materials that provide the critical, up-to-date
information they need to support their networks. Applied to online
technical content, the TAC Certification seal signifies that a Cisco
subject matter expert has either created the content or reviewed
it for accuracy and timeliness. Certified materials are the same
as those used internally by the Cisco TAC, so TAC Certification
is a guarantee that users will receive the same reliable information
on line as they would directly from Cisco networking experts. Users
can access certified content at their convenience 24 hours a day,
seven days a week, enabling them to increase productivity, resolve
issues quickly, maximize network uptime, and save time and money
for their organizations.
TAC Certification Team
Cisco is so committed to delivering the most timely, accurate technical
information through the Cisco TAC Web site, that it has created
an entire TAC Certification team to review critical content. The
TAC Certification team is comprises Cisco TAC representatives, all
of whom have experience in the field of networking, as well as a
expertise in specific hardware, software, and/or internetworking
technologies. Currently, team members publish their own TAC-certified
content on line; in the future, they will review existing technical
documentation for inclusion in the certification program.
Certification Processes
With literally thousands of pages of technical content available
on line, customers must be able to identify critical materials quickly.
For this reason, only documents dealing with cutting-edge technologies
or core technologies that are the lifeblood of any Cisco network
will carry Cisco TAC Certification seal. Depending on the type of
technology, content may be certified for a few months, up to a year.
Once certification expires, the material will be carefully reviewed
and then recertified, updated, or removed from the Cisco TAC Web
site. This means that users can be assured that certified content
will always be the most timely and accurate information available.
The Future of TAC Certification
In dealing with a variety of networking issues, Cisco customers
and partners have discovered innovative solutions that have proved
beneficial to their own organizations as well as to Cisco. In the
future, Cisco will leverage the capabilities of this external community
of networking experts by enabling them to submit technical content
directly to the Cisco TAC Certification team. Once the content has
been through the team's standard review cycle, it will be certified,
published on the TAC Web site with the TAC certification seal, and
available for use by the entire Cisco technical community-internal
and external.
