Interpreter Tool
Online Tool Supports New "show diagnostics" Outputs

The Cisco Output Interpreter is an online tool that analyzes command outputs from your router, switch, PIX firewall, and Cisco IOS wireless access point to detect and resolve potential problems. This online tool now supports new "show diagnostics" command output as well as additional "show controller" commands.

Other new Output Interpreter features include:

  • Support for the "show diagnostic result all" and "show diagnostic result module x detail" commands


  • Support for the "show controller fastethernet," "show controller atm," "show controller dsl," and "show controller hssi" commands

For example, when you submit the output of a "show diagnostic result all" command, Output Interpreter checks if any Generic Online Diagnostics (GOLD) test failed. The analysis describes the test failure and offers a corrective action to troubleshoot the problem.

Cisco TAC Service Request Tool - UPDATE:
Upcoming Technology Terminology Change

In October 2006, the "Content Networking" Technology value listed in the Cisco TAC Service Request Tool will be changed to "Application Networking Services." This update will ensure consistency with the terminology used to categorize the suite of products on Cisco.com.

Note: When this change goes live, all Subtechnology entries formally listed under "Content Networking" will reside under "Application Networking Services."

CCIE Central - UPDATE:
Updates to Assessor Lab plus Revised Voice Written Exam

Cisco has introduced new options for purchasing the CCIE Assessor Lab. Each four-hour CCIE practice lab now comes with two additional hours of practice time on the live equipment, all for US$279. Also, a second and different four-hour version of CCIE Assessor for Routing and Switching has been released, covering additional topics found on the eight-hour CCIE lab exam. Candidates purchasing both versions together pay a discounted price of US$399 for the two four-hour practice labs and a total of four additional hours of equipment time.

A revision to the Voice written exam will be released between October 31 and November 2, 2006 in all testing locations worldwide. The new version will replace the current version, and will include several previously untested topics, such as CallManager Express, Cisco Unity Express, and Integrated Contract Distribution. Candidates preparing for the Voice written exam on or after these dates should refer to the CCIE Voice Written Exam 2.0 Blueprint for a detailed outline of topics that will be covered.

Passing the Voice written exam qualifies a candidate to schedule the CCIE Voice lab in addition to meeting recertification requirements where applicable.
