 |
This power session focuses on common issues encountered when developing a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Network Management Center (NMC). Where possible, real world examples will be used to share solutions drawn from Cisco's experience helping customers manage their networks. The session will provide an in-depth discussion on the challenges of developing a NOC, best practices for device management, and how to choose the correct hardware and software tools.
To get the most out of this session attendees should have good working knowledge of the technologies used to manage Enterprise networks (Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)), Management Information Base (MIB), Remote Monitoring (RMON), general management techniques for polling and monitoring, and an understanding of NMS platforms and CiscoWorks2000 products.
Other topics that will be covered:
- Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance and Security management strategies will be covered and concerns of integrating help-desk operations will be addressed.
- Detailed issues and examples will be discussed on how to deploy the major products of the CiscoWorks2000 LAN Management Solution (LMS) and Routed WAN Management Solution (RWAN) bundles with third party partner products in a NOC environment.
Technology Breakout Session NSC-221 Large Scale Deployment of CW2000 covers information that may be useful with PS-510.
As Power Session capacities are limited, register early. If you have previously registered for Networkers 2002 and would now like to add a Power Session, please contact Networkers Customer Service or 800.797.7739.
