This course work is designed for the Network engineer that wishes to achieve optimal performance from their network. In this comprehensive one-day session, we will cover topics to make your network operate more efficiently by discussing the details and functions of protocols that add functionality and simplify network management functions. Pre-requisites for this coursework are a basic understanding of IP subnetting and router and switch operation.
This session will focus on answering the question of how do you take your IP network beyond minimal functionality?
Specific topics for discussion are naming conventions and schemes with Domain Name Service (DNS) and IP address management with Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP)
Other topics that will be covered:
- Controlling access to the infrastructure with Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA)
- Logging and accurately tracking network events using Network Time Protocol (NTP), Syslog servers and other tools.
As Power Session capacities are limited, register early. If you have previously registered for Networkers 2002 and would now like to add a Power Session, please contact Networkers Customer Service or 800.797.7739.
