PS-543 - Enterprise Network Design Principles Power Session

This session provides an introduction to and detailed discussions of design principles used in deploying large-scale enterprise networks. Emphasis is placed upon structure, hierarchy and modularity of network design, making networks more scalable and easier to troubleshoot. The purpose of each layer - Core, Distribution and Access - will be described and validated with examples. Concepts for controlling and limiting domain failure will also be introduced and explained. This Power Session will focus upon the philosophy, concepts and best practices of network design.

Other topics that will be covered:
  • Designing borders for applying policy and Quality of Service capabilities will be examined.
Best practices tools and features including: load sharing, circuit-diversity, STP-tools, Fast EtherChannel and Hot Standby Routing Protocol (HSRP) will be explained.
