NETWORKERS DEPLOYING BGP POWER SESSION

PS-545 - Deploying BGP Power Session

This session covers the operation, deployment and troubleshooting of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). In addition this session provides background information on the motivation behind BGP deployment and discusses its role as the routing protocol for Internet interdomain routing. This course will delve into the internals of the protocol including basic protocol messages and more recently introduced BGP capabilities and features.

Other topics that will be covered:
  • Scalable and stable BGP deployment, issues with emphasis on developing configuration templates for application in real world networks.
  • The practical use of BGP to scale an enterprise network with Internal Border Gateway Protocol (IBGP).
  • Using External Border Gateway Protocol (EBGP) to connect to an Internet service Provider (ISP) and multihoming to a single or multiple ISPs.
  • Customer aggregation and public peering will also be discussed as well as troubleshooting techniques.
As Power Session capacities are limited, register early. If you have previously registered for Networkers 2002 and would now like to add a Power Session, please contact Networkers Customer Service or 800.797.7739.
