Supported Releases

This documentation covers Cisco EGW 2200 applications through System Release 2 patch 11. If you are upgrading an existing Cisco EGW application, please begin by reading the Release Notes for Cisco EGW 2200 1.1(2), familiarizing yourself with information on the patch to which you are upgrading.

User Audience and Processes

This documentation is written for customer staff who plan and implement Cisco EGW 2200 applications. Information on each of the main processes is presented under its own tab.

Roles Main Processes and User Objectives
Network architect Planning, so that you can tailor your Cisco EGW 2200 application to your objectives
Installer and Administrator Installation, so that you can confidently install the right components, in the right order, for the application you have selected
Operator and Administrator Configuring and Provisioning, so that you can configure and provision, as needed, each component in your application. We provide detailed instructions for configuring and provisioning the Cisco EGW and links and tips for other components.
Operator and Administrator Operating, so that you can carry out day-to-day operations and maintenance tasks, including adding customer services and upgrading software
Administrator and in some cases Operator Troubleshooting so that you can find out what to do about specific Cisco EGW alarms and other network symptoms. This topic also includes links to basic troubleshooting documentation for other components.
All Reference information so that you can quickly look up topics such as Cisco EGW default settings or alarms. This information might be available elsewhere as needed for you to perform a particular task, but the Reference tab collects it in summary, reference form.

Using Help in Cisco EGW Administration and Cisco IPT Platform Administration Applications

For Cisco EGW provisioning tasks, be sure to use Cisco EGW Administration online help, which provides component details and assistance on overall provisioning. Cisco IPT Platform Administration also has online help for platform functions.

To open Cisco EGW Administration help, click the Help link at the right of the window:

Help opens to the welcome page, at the right, and the Contents and Index panes at the left. The organization matches that of Cisco EGW Administration. If you do not know where to look for a component or property, you can search for it by clicking Search.
