Has Cisco organised any deals with airlines regarding flights to Cannes? No, we have not. Please book your travel via your regular means. Do I need insurance? You are advised to obtain travel, medical, personal accident and luggage insurance prior to your trip to France. The registration fee does not include any form of insurance cover. What about passport/visa requirements? Each country has different requirements. We suggest you contact your local consulate or embassy to enquire whether a passport and/or visa is required for your travel. If I need a visa invitation letter, where do I get one? If you need an invitation letter to apply for a visa, please contact the Cisco Registration Team on the numbers below and they will be happy to provide one. Tel: +44 (0)20 8334 6987 How do I book my hotel? We have reserved rooms in selected hotels in Cannes at preferential rates for our delegates. However you are responsible for making your own hotel arrangements. Please note that rooms are at a premium in Cannes, and the rooms we have reserved will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Therefore the sooner you book the better. For more information, please refer to the Hotel Information page. How do I get to the Palais des Festivals or to my hotel from Nice airport? Upon arrival in Nice, delegates must make their own way to their accommodation or to the Palais. By taxi: Taxis can be taken from the airport. The approximate fare is EUR 65. They are available 24 hours (tel: (0)4 9313 7878) to all destinations. Stands are located outside the Arrivals levels of both terminals. By rail: SNCF regional train services (tel: (0)8 9235 3535; website: www.ter.sncf.fr) run from Gare Nice St Augustin, situated 500 metres (600 yards) from Terminal 1, and Gare St Laurent du Var, 3km (2 miles) from the airport, serving all routes from Cannes to Vintimille. Bus nos.200, 1A and 1B connect to these stations. All other SNCF routes run from the central station in Nice, connected to the airport by bus no.99 (SNCF Direct) from Terminal 2 and route 23 from Terminal 1. By air: transfer by helicopter is also available (click here for more info) What should I know about currency & tipping? The Euro is now the official currency of 12 EU member states (including France). In general, a 10% tip is expected in taxis and restaurants. Should I be aware of health precautions? No special precautions are required. Is parking space available at the Palais des Festivals? Yes, there is free parking available on a first come first served basis. What about the electrical supply in France? 220 volts AC, 50Hz. Two-pin plugs are widely used; adaptors recommended. What are the telephone codes? The country code for France is +33. Ensure to dial this number when dialling from outside France. What is the time zone? France follows Central European Time, which is one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.
