Based Reading Berks with travel to client 2-3 days per week.

The Role:

This is a exciting new opportunity to join the Customer facing Service Provider Network Integration and Services Innovation lab at Cisco - UK. The role is responsible for customer specific solution testing and integration of the IP Next-Generation networks.

This will involves good understanding of testing processes, analyzing new test requirements, writing test plans, building lab configurations, executing and automating cases, and documenting results. Experience with core IP/MPLS is critical, in addition to overall telecommunications and voice knowledge.

The position will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing custom test plans for service provider solutions. This will involve working with the architecture/design team, analyzing new solution requirements, writing test plans, building test lab configurations, executing and automating test cases, and documenting results. Need to interface with all facets of solution architecture/design team, development engineering and test engineering and identify key gaps for end-to-end solution Integration and testing. Research and develop new methods to automate solution testing.

Skillset:

Should have a good understanding of several of the following and be very well versed in : OSI, IGRP, BGP/EGP, ES-IS, IS-IS, HDLC PPP, X.25, SMDS, FDDI.

Working knowledge of Cisco internetworking products is desired. Should have knowledge of ATM, Frame Relay, SONET, ISDN.

Hands on voice/data/video network design, testing, troubleshooting and debugging skills is preferred.

Knowledge of WAN/LAN internetworking protocols

The ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams is a must. This includes cross-functional contribution and impact with development engineering on product development and serviceability design.

Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
