Project manager
Role and responsibilities:
- Working within the Implementation programme responsible for the implementation of the BT21cn PoP’s (Points of Presence) across the UK.
- Acting as prime point of contact to various customer and internal Cisco stakeholders.
- Deployment of the Cisco nodes in line within the customer’s installation standards requirements.
- Acceptance of Cisco nodes across the UK.
- Integration and acceptance of the Cisco network into the customer’s production network.
- Able to work with other equipment suppliers to facilitate equipment integration testing.
- Leadership and co-ordination of up to 50 Cisco and Cisco Partner engineers.
- Ownership and management of the commercial agreement between Cisco and the Cisco Partners.
- Working with the PMO Design/Test team, and the Cisco BU’s to understand design changes. Change control of subsequent implementation changes.
- Project budget performance management and reporting.
Experience:
Project management of a large telecoms infrastructure roll out project. Worked in a matrix organisation, leading a multi-disciplined team, including Partners. Extensive customer interface experience.

- Team player and effective communicator at all levels within an organisation.
- Able to lead and influence a group of engineering teams.
- Flexible and able to cope with changing requirements.

Advanced Services Project Manager – Staging Management
Role and responsibilities:
- Working within the Implementation programme and in partnership with the Cisco lead engineer, responsible for the BT21cn staging environment, at a location in the south-east of England.
- Project managing the preparation and build of the appropriate staging facility.
- Facility and partner selection.
- Co-ordination of the receipt, build, test and dispatch of up to 1,500 cabinets of Cisco product.
- Leadership and co-ordination of up to 30 Cisco and Cisco Partner engineers.
- Ownership and management of the commercial agreement between Cisco and the Partner.
- Working with the Implementation Project Manager(s), to understand the requirements associated with cabinet build and site delivery requirements.
- Project budget performance management and reporting.
Experience:
A project manager (potentially Junior) that has worked in a telecoms or IT infrastructure roll out project. Worked in a matrix organisation, leading a multi-disciplined team, including Partners.
Essential traits:
- Team player and able to communicate at different levels in an organisation.
- Able to lead and influence a team of engineers, and manage third parties suppliers.
- Planning, scheduling and resource management skills.
- Commercial awareness.
- Flexible and able to cope with changing requirements.
Preferable traits:
- Logistic and inventory control experience.
