Role and responsibilities:
- Working in a team environment within the Implementation programme, along side the Cisco project managers, lead Project Engineer and Partner engineers.
- Able to work within a staging and tests environment, and customer sites across the UK.
- Leading a team of Partner engineers.
- Translating the Cisco design into an implementation solution. Able to build the network for the design and kit list.
- Generates, maintains a suite of implementation documentation.
- Physical build of the equipment racks.
- Generation of working configurations.
- Responsible for the functional tests for the devices and design features throughout the deployment of the network.
- Responsible for on-site test and customer acceptance of the Cisco PoPs and network.
- Builds the final hand-over documentation.
- Keeps track of technical issues during the deployment.
Essential traits:
- Typically CCIE.
- Broad technical understanding (Routing, Switching, Advanced MPLS, Optical, Security).
- Able to lead a small team of Cisco/Cisco Partner engineers and customer representatives.
- Installation and cabling standards.
- Health and safety standards.
- Communication skills – internal & external.
- NMS awareness.
Preferable traits:
- Commercial/business awareness.
- Consultative skills.
- Market segment experience: examples: SP Mobile, SP Wireline, Finance.
