JOB TITLE : Customer Support Engineer

I had two main motivations for applying to Cisco as a TAC engineer.

Firstly, I wanted to work in an advanced technology field for a dynamic company that would offer me a challenging career.

Secondly, I wanted to have the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary for troubleshooting customer's problems and understanding their roles and responsibilities, and therefore, focus on achieving their satisfaction.

Personally, I found the Assessment Center a very interesting way of getting to know the TAC, its people and their daily jobs, and I found out about their willingness to help you when you have the determination to do well.

It was also a great chance to meet different people from everywhere, and to be introduced to a number of top-level experts working in a very nice environment. The evaluation on this day is not only useful for Cisco, but also for you, as a way of measuring your capabilities and strengths.

My first two months at Cisco constituted a great opportunity to acquire a deep and broad knowledge of the main technologies at the TAC, as well as a deeper dive into the technology I had been chosen to work on and in which I had a particular interest.

Not only was the technical content of these training activities important to me, but also the idea behind loving challenges and being supported by all team members to help you succeed.

During the first two months at the TAC, I found that, not only had my technical knowledge increased amazingly, but I had also developed other important skills, like the troubleshooting approach, communication of problems and their solutions to customers, and soft skills. All of this had to be learnt at an incredible speed, which constituted an important challenge for me. The help given by the trainers and colleagues, as a part of the culture of giving back, undoubtedly helped me to get the maximum benefit from this time.

I would say one of the most valuable things about working at Cisco is the opportunity to bring out the best in yourself, and develop your skills with the help of the team. Innovation, leadership and customer satisfaction are three of the main commitments that Cisco has and for which everyone in this organization strives.

In addition, working in such an international atmosphere makes Cisco a very interesting place to develop professionally.

As a TAC engineer, I plan to start a successful technical career. Following up a certification path can help this cause, and open the way to other areas, like Advanced Services or the Commercial Area. With all this experience and strong technical knowledge in my possession, I will be able to work closer with the customer, providing comprehensive solutions and advice to meet their ever-increasing expectations.

I strongly recommend this experience to people who, like me, are eager to learn and become competent network professionals. Being proactive and determined are two best friends that can help you succeed here.

It is worth coming here just for the opportunity to work in one of the best companies with some of the leading professionals from all over the world.
