JOB TITLE : Associate Sales Representative (ASR)

When I decided to apply for this job I didn’t have a clear idea what it would be. The things that attracted me more were the company, Cisco; the opportunity to have one year training that would cover different aspects (sales, presentation skills, technical) and of course the great opportunity to share an experience like that another 43 people from seven different countries.

I have been here now for two months and I can swear to you that it’s amazing. During these months we have covered different aspects and all the trainers that we have had have been outstanding! After two months I can see clearly the difference in me. During this period I’ve learnt more about how to communicate with people, I feel more comfortable during a presentation in front of an audience and I have also more technical knowledge and skills.

The most challenging aspect during this period was the technical class. I have an economics background and I’ve never studied the different aspects of networking before. Something that really impressed me is all the people that you meet in Cisco, always ready to help you, to give you more information; the knowledge that these people have is impressive. Everybody is with you to help you succeed.

In this program you can learn a lot both as a future professional Account Manager and also as a person. I’ve learn so many things about myself that I didn’t know. You are always in touch with people that are also willing to improve, that want to face challenges that create opportunities.

Cisco is a company in which people are leaders and the best team players that you can ever find at the same time. From the outset you learn the importance of team work, how people together can push their targets. At the same time you learn also to respect and trust the people that you are working with. One of the Cisco values is also to have fun while you are working. You are so close with your colleagues that it’s great fun during the night going out with them, having the opportunity to know more about them and understand the different cultures whilst sharing and our ideas. You can see easily that Europe is one Nation.

In the future see myself as an Account Manager, working in Italy together with the Partners to provide to the customer the right solution that suits their needs. The most exciting thing is that Cisco is a meritocracy company in which it is up to you how far do you want to go, how much do you want to grow; your career is in your hands.

I am strongly convinced that this program can give the people that join a lot of satisfaction, a lot of opportunities to learn and to be a real professional Sales person, working with one of the best companies (both from the customer and the employees point of view). In addition you have the great opportunity to be in this program with people from many different countries.
