PPDIOO

IP NGN Delivery Services Model

Like any significant change to a service provider's operational support system (OSS), technology migration can be a significant challenge. Success requires in-depth understanding and systematic planning.

To help you meet your business objectives, the IP NGN Expertise Center follows a methodology for structured program delivery based on the PPDIOO model: prepare, plan, design, implement, operate, and optimize:

  • The approach is based on Cisco research and development efforts, as well as knowledge gathered from successful solution engagements.
  • Cisco promotes it across its service-delivery organization as well as its partner ecosystem, and supports it through Web-based delivery.
  • Because it has standardize on a common approach, Cisco can assemble project teams with members from different geographic areas and with different areas of expertise, and ensure they collaborate effectively.
  • Benefits include faster time to market, reduced cost, and high quality service delivery.

By using the structured PPDIOO process and IP NGN Program Central, a Web-based management system, Cisco effectively manages highly distributed workforces and systems to provide you with the best return on your investment.

Operate Phase

Typical Deliverables:

SMARTnet
Software Application Support (SAS)
Milestone Completion Certificate (MCC)

In the Operate phase, commonly known as "Day 2," the program starts the transition to an operational function. The Cisco team stabilizes system operational issues and closes out the status of all deliverables, documentation, training, and remaining deployments. The project manager begins closing the program and initiates support services where applicable.
