PPDIOO

IP NGN Delivery Services Model

Like any significant change to a service provider's operational support system (OSS), technology migration can be a significant challenge. Success requires in-depth understanding and systematic planning.

To help you meet your business objectives, the IP NGN Expertise Center follows a methodology for structured program delivery based on the PPDIOO model: prepare, plan, design, implement, operate, and optimize:

  • The approach is based on Cisco research and development efforts, as well as knowledge gathered from successful solution engagements.
  • Cisco promotes it across its service-delivery organization as well as its partner ecosystem, and supports it through Web-based delivery.
  • Because it has standardize on a common approach, Cisco can assemble project teams with members from different geographic areas and with different areas of expertise, and ensure they collaborate effectively.
  • Benefits include faster time to market, reduced cost, and high quality service delivery.

By using the structured PPDIOO process and IP NGN Program Central, a Web-based management system, Cisco effectively manages highly distributed workforces and systems to provide you with the best return on your investment.

Prepare Phase

Typical Deliverables:

Customer Requirements Documents (CRD)
High Level Design (HLD)
Current state assessment Survey and Results CSAS)

During the Prepare phase, Cisco performs a discovery process to understand your business needs, high-level requirements, and challenges. This effort includes a series of interviews with supporting staff to develop and propose a viable solution, balance competing needs, and understand your business and technical environment. Other significant efforts at this stage include developing a customer requirements document as well as high-level design documentation.

A survey tool used in the Prepare stage will help organize and report findings. It also helps Cisco more systematically share findings with you and with other organizations that will help manage, design, and deploy your IP NGN solutions.
