Problem Description
Installing the referenced CUCM version on servers equipped with G0 step of the Woodcrest processor displays the following error message:
Unsupported Processor Detected - System will only boot ROMPAQ Utility 805-Unsupported Processor Detected
Background
Intel has issued a new stepping of the processor contained in the referenced servers. See Product Change Notification PCN 107467-00. Installation of the referenced OS version may contain an earlier System BIOS version that does not support the new G0 step of the CPU. If this incompatible BIOS and the new processor stepping are both installed, the following error message will be displayed during system boot:
Unsupported Processor Detected - System will only boot ROMPAQ Utility 805-Unsupported Processor Detected
Problem Symptoms
During the installation, the system fails to follow the boot process when both the new processor stepping and old incompatible System BIOS are installed. As a result, the following error messages are displayed:
Unsupported Processor Detected - System will only boot ROMPAQ Utility 805-Unsupported Processor Detected
Workaround/Solution
The workaround is for the user to initiate the documented BIOS upgrade procedure for MCS-7845-H2 servers available on the Unified Communications Manager Utilities Software Download Page ( registered customers only) .
The procedure and associated referenced executable are
