Problem Description |
| 1) 15540-10GE-03B3xx cards may not function in Subslot 1 of the 15540-LCMB-1400 or 15540-LCMB-1401 Top Assembly Part Numbers listed above. Cards include the 15540-10GE-03B301 through 15540-10GE-03B332 (Top Assembly Number 800-18xxx-03 and later) 2) Either +5V or -5V DC/DC supplies may fail when all daughter cards are removed from the 15540-LCMB-1400 or 15540-LCMB-1401 subslots while the system's power is on. |
Background |
| 1) To correct a condition where the voltage drop from the 1.8V DC/DC converter to Subslot 1 is too large to support daughter cards based on UT modules. 2) Replaced DC/DC converters to correct a failure under a no-load condition. |
Problem Symptom |
| 1) When a 15540-10GE-03B3xx Universal Transponder (UT) Based daughter cards is present in Subslot 1 of the 15540-LCMB-1400 or 15540-LCMB-1401 Top Assembly Part Numbers listed above the transpoder may not operate correctly. These failures are only seen when using UT-Based 10G Transponders with the voltage trimmed LOW. 2) When a 15540-LCMB-1400 or 15540-LCMB-1401 is powered with no 10G Daughter cards present, or a Daughter card is hot-swapped, the +5V or -5V DC/DC converter may fail due to the no-load condition. |
Workaround/Solution |
| These issues has been corrected through changes to the 15540-LCMB-1400 and 15540-LCMB-1401 assemblies. Upgraded material can be obtained by contacting the Technal Assistance Center to request an return merchandise authorization (RMA). | |
